Next-generation virtualization
technology for VDI and cloud

Gridcentric

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure with one-third the server costs.

GridCentric’s virtualization solution greatly reduces the number of servers required to support large scale Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) implementations. Virtual Memory Streaming (VMS) technology pioneered by GridCentric dramatically reduces the amount of server memory necessary to maintain each Virtual Desktop. Reducing the amount of memory required means you need to deploy fewer servers to support your Virtual Desktop clients. GridCentric’s VMS technology stores the common elements of the desktop images in a master copy on a central server in the data center, so that only the unique elements of each running desktop need to be stored in memory. The process is both automatic and dynamic, which results in significant cost savings while still delivering all the benefits of VDI to end users and IT managers.

Desktops provisioned by VMS boot instantly, which reduces traffic across the network and generates less stress on the storage system. With the "8 AM boot storm problem" eliminated, there is no need for costly infrastructure upgrades to support VDI.

Public Cloud

GridCentric enables a more scalable, dynamic infrastructure for cloud.

GridCentric’s virtualization technology enables Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), which is adaptable and scalable in real-time. Resource usage automatically adjusts for spikes in demand without restricting the development platform, programming language, database or environment. The technology lets public and private cloud manage significant changes in demand, without worrying about the over-allocation of server resources.

GridCentric is working with multiple infrastructure providers to bring this next-generation cloud technology to market.
